Chongqing Rail Freight Trains Link China with Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Other EU Markets
Published November 8, 2019 · Sino-Euro Railway
Chongqing's rail freight service to Central and Eastern Europe covers more than 10,000 kilometers, departing from Chongqing, exiting China through the Alashankou border crossing in Xinjiang and arriving in Poznań, Poland. The service mainly carries auto parts, mechanical equipment and notebook computers to EU markets.
The Chongqing–Central and Eastern Europe trains were launched with support from representatives of Romania, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Latvia, Poland and Hungary, together with officials from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chongqing Port Logistics Office, the Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office and the Shapingba District Government.
For shippers in southwest China, the service provides a direct land bridge to Central and Eastern European markets, cutting weeks off ocean transit and giving automotive and electronics supply chains a dependable alternative for reaching Poland, Hungary, Czechia and neighboring countries.
